Pastor Dan began in ministry as counselor and program director at Sandy Hill Boys Camp in Maryland, now part of Camp Sandy Cove in West Virginia. He has extensive experience in youth & children’s ministry and a special heart for those on the streets – the homeless, the addicted, the prostituted. His undergraduate studies were in Computer Science and Philosophy, specializing in artificial intelligence research. He earned his Master of Divinity degree at Eastern (now Palmer) Seminary. Prior to coming to Fishtown in 2001, he pastored in three different settings – the mountains, the suburbs, and the first-ring suburbs. He has been happily married to his wife Judy since 1998. He is also a West Coast Swing dance enthusiast and beginner improv comic.
Having served 28 years as pastor of Fleischmann Memorial Baptist Church, Jim transitioned to being a full-time concert pianist. Jim is a graduate of Julliard and teaches piano at both Eastern University and Cairn University. He is known for his ability to play a very large repertoire of classical music, hymns, and popular music from memory. Jim is an active bibliophile and a pioneer in the cause of redirecting excess food from businesses to those who need it. Jim is married and the father of two adult sons.
Doris works full-time as the Social Responsibilities Coordinator for Philadelphia Insurance Companies. She is very busy raising her high school daughter and is active in ministry to senior adults, including being the founder and operator of Christmas for Seniors. She is known and loved by the people of Summerfield for her friendly reminders of coming events.
